Activision has revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 for all current-gen platforms, including the PS5. Developed by Infinity Ward, the shooter will take players to the Korean Peninsula on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 promises a dark campaign and exciting multiplayer

Modern Warfare 4 is built exclusively for current-gen platforms, enabling a technical leap. Infinity Ward has promised a “dark, gritty,” cinematic campaign in which players take on the role of Private Park, a Korean soldier thrust into war for the first time.

Captain Price will make a return in Modern Warfare 4, with missions set in multiple locations around the globe, including New York, Paris, and Mumbai.

As far as multiplayer is concerned, Infinity Ward is deploying new technology for authentic gameplay, guaranteeing precision aiming, improved weapon handling, realistic audio, and enhanced visibility.

At launch, players will have access to 12 all-new core 6-versus-6 maps. Additionally, multiplayer will feature Gunfight maps, Big War maps for vehicle and infantry combat, and Kill Block.

Modern Warfare 4 will feature two Prestige paths: Classic and Regular, with the former offering a traditional reset experience.

Last but not least, DMZ returns in Modern Warfare 4. Infinity Ward will detail the mode in June, but for now, players have been promised a transformed, large-scale sandbox that delivers the “definitive Call of Duty extraction experience.”
