MagicCon Amsterdam 2026 is in full swing, and Magic: The Gathering fans, players, and creators from all over the world have assembled in the Netherlands capital for a weekend full of entertaining events and surprises. On Friday, Wizards of the Coast’s Secret Lair team assembled to give fans a preview of the future drops coming for the popular, and sometimes controversial, collectors’ product.
Annie Sardelis, Ashley Creech, Hilary S. Thompson, and Steve Sunu took the stage to present 13 Secret Lair drops coming in 2026. A Hatsune Miku Commander deck, three Stardew Valley drops, a Marvelous Mathom The Hobbit drop, four Marvel Super Heroes drops, a Lofi Girl drop, and three artist-focused drops are all coming in 2026.
The Hatsune Miku lifegain/tokens Commander deck will “recreate the feeling of a Miku concert.” It comes on Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. PDT. Stardew Valley will get a mechanically unique land card, called Stardew Valley. It taps for one colorless mana, you can pay two colorless and tap it along with an untapped creature to create a Food token, or for three mana give control of a permanent to another player in exchange for drawing a card. One of the drops features art by Stardew Valley developer ConcernedApe. All three drops will go on sale on July 27 at 9 a.m. PDT.
The Hobbit Secret Lair includes an Arcane Heist card with a special foil silver ink treatment meant to emulate Bilbo becoming invisible using The One Ring. It also includes a Stony Silence card with art by Jordan Speer, and seven Food tokens recreating every meal a Hobbit has during a day. The Hobbit Secret Lair will drop on Aug. 17 at 9 a.m. PDT.
The first Marvel Super Heroes drop will be Earth’s Mightiest Pets, and feature some of the most famous critters from the Marvel Universe, including Jeff the shark. A “romance” drop with art inspired by romance novels will showcase some of Marvel’s most famous couples, including Thanos and Lady Death, who will appear on the perfectly matched Grave Pact card. A Hulk drop illustrated by Marvel artists will provide a look at the Green Goliath’s long comic book history. Finally, a Dan Hipp Secret Lair will showcase the work of one of Marvel’s most unique artists.
The most unexpected Secret Lair reveal was, without a doubt, the Lofi Girl drop. If “YouTube channel with relaxing music for studying and chilling” was on your bingo card, congratulations. Artist Gene Luen Yang will also get a dedicated Secret Lair drop, with cards and art inspired by Journey to the West. The artist-focused drops continue with a Robin Eisenberg Secret Lair and an Ian Miller Secret Lair. Miller, who has worked on Magic ever since the Mirage set, also wrote the flavor text for the cards.
All the Marvel drops, the Lofi Girl drop, and the artist-focused drops will go on sale on Aug. 26 at 9 a.m. PDT.
Last but not least, art from a yet-unannounced Masters of the Universe Secret Lair superdrop was shown, featuring art from the comics, and the original TV show.
Secret Lair remains one of the most popular Magic products, despite some fans complaining about their limited print making them an easy target for scalpers. Wizards seems willing to experiment with small changes in the format lately, as seen with the recently announced print-on-demand Global Fund for Women charity Secret Lair, and the new Reality Fracture Secret Lair bundle, which will be sold in WPN shops.
