An acclaimed first-person shooter is making its way to the PlayStation 5. The game is out today with a ton of content.

Atari’s Cultic is a retro-inspired callback to the classic era of FPS games

Atari and Jasozz Games have announced that Cultic, the acclaimed indie first-person shooter, is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is available on the PS Store now for $19.98, a cheeky callback to the retro roots of the game. Originally released in 2022, the console versions of Cultic include the games two chapters together in a complete edition, featuring 23 maps and a Survival Mode.

Styled to feel like a throwback to the shooters of yore, Cultic is inspired by games like Quake, Duke Nukem, and even Resident Evil 4 and Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2. The game features a litany of weapons and an original soundtrack to listen to as you make your way through the world and take down monsters.

After its release in 2022 and second chapter release last year, Cultic garnered some strong reviews. The FPS has an 80 score on OpenCritic, with 86% of critics recommending the title.

“Chapter One is set in rural, 1960s America, where you explore cult outposts, dusty catacombs, abandoned asylums, and much more. Chapter Two brings you into ravaged streets of New Grandewel, where corpses litter the roads and cultists infest every inch of the city you once protected. The thrilling second campaign includes new weapons and enemies, a new soundtrack, and even more brutality,” reads the game’s description.
