At a PokémonXP panel this weekend, The Pokémon Company announced its popular mobile game Pokémon TCG Pocket will be adding Dual-type cards this October.
This will be “starting with Mega Mewtwo X ex”. This Pokémon card will be a dual Psychic and Fighting-type. Here’s a first look:
This same update will also allow trainers to start collecting first partner Pokémon as ex cards. Here’s a look at Piplup ex and Fuecoco ex, and you can expect more to follow. Once again, this will all roll out on October 2026, alongside a new series of TCG Pocket expansions.
This announcement follows the release of Team Rocket’s Ambition Expansion in TCG Pocket this week. Here’s the rundown:
“Team Rocket’s Pokémon are the highlights of this expansion, with card art featuring the team’s iconic logo and Team Rocket grunts concocting silly schemes alongside their Pokémon. There will also be some unique Team Rocket Trainer cards you can use to power up your decks!
“Make your new cards even more intimidating with covers and backdrops featuring Team Rocket’s Boss and his Persian, available on Monday, August 31, 2026.”
