Rumors are piling up that a highly anticipated PS5 action adventure game has been quietly delayed. Developed by Flying Wild Hog and Crystal Dynamics, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is an upcoming remake of Tomb Raider (1996). The game was scheduled for launch in 2026, but that might no longer be the case.
PS5 action-adventure game Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis reportedly pushed out of 2026
A couple of weeks ago, Tomb Raider fan Society of Raiders — who is a trusted source within the game’s community — claimed that Legacy of Atlantis has been pushed to February 2027. Society of Raiders was the first to leak the existence of Legacy of Atlantis, which adds to their credibility.
Yesterday, another trusted source within the Tomb Raider community corroborated the report. In an episode of Tombs, Tea & Trauma podcast, one of the panel members claimed to be in direct contact with someone within the development studios. According to them, Legacy of Atlantis will get a new trailer in June, which will display its new release date of February 12, 2027.
It’s now being speculated that Tomb Raider: Catalyst, a brand-new mainline entry in the franchise, will be pushed out of 2027 and into 2028.
If true, it will have taken Crystal Dynamics a decade to release a new game in the Tomb Raider franchise. The last entry, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, released in 2018.
