Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 entered a short early access period this week, and it predictably led to a small number of complaints regarding map size, movement speed, and spawn placement. You know, the usual Call of Duty balance issues — nothing too serious, and most players seem to be pretty content with MW4 so far.
But there’s one more issue with MW4 that’s sparked plenty of player complaints, and this one isn’t about maps or guns or TTK (time to kill). It’s instead about our old buddy Captain Price, who seems to have endured some sort of hair-related mishap.
If you aren’t already familiar with Price, he’s been a major star in quite a few CoD games, and he’s made appearances as a playable character in a few others. Regardless of his role, though, he’s always sported a full head of hair (even if it’s hidden under a big floppy hat).
He’s supposed to look like this in MW4, too. See for yourself:

But apparently, something went wrong between Modern Warfare 3 and 4, and Price’s hairline isn’t looking too hot anymore:

Yikes!
Infinity Ward quickly promised to patch his hair up and even added the issue as a standalone card on the game’s project management Trello board, explaining to players that his terrifying haircut only appears when playing on the lowest graphics settings. Other players jumped in to back the devs up with screenshots of Price flaunting his usual head of hair, with one player writing, “What in the 1050 TI is this?”
Hello! We’re aware of an issue with Price’s hair not appearing correctly when viewed at the lowest level of detail. The team will be addressing it in a future update.
Ultimately this will not be an issue if players meet our recommended specs.

What in the 1050 TI is this? Whoever took that screenshot got the game at ultra low, ultra performance, 11% resolution. pic.twitter.com/Pq3A5BdzFt

The team’s tweet, however, couldn’t beat the onslaught of posts making fun of poor Price’s hairstyle:
that ain’t captain Price that’s lieutenant Cost https://t.co/gtAFT18NhF

We can only hope that Captain Price makes a trip to the barber before the game’s open beta is out this weekend. (After years and years of wearing hats and those bulky tactical helmets, though, maybe it’s finally time for him to just take the plunge and go bald.)
