Coming this summer is a Lego set that every The X-Files fan would give up their liver for. Lego announced Tuesday that a new official set based on The X-Files will arrive this August.
The official X-Files Lego set features a forest alien-abduction scene that takes place above the most iconic set from the series, Agent Mulder’s messy office complete with his “I Want to Believe” UFO poster. In addition to Lego minifigures of Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully, the set includes their boss, assistant director Walter Skinner and the mysterious Cigarette Smoking Man (named Carl Busch here, so that Lego won’t look like it’s endorsing smoking). Also coming with the set are minifigure versions of Mr. X, Alex Krycek, The Flukeman, and a grey alien.
The set is a product of Lego’s “Lego Ideas” program, where Lego fans develop a set for potential production and Lego fans express support by voting on it. This set was designed by creator Brent “WetWired” Waller in early 2025, and received the necessary 10,000 votes for consideration. There were some changes from Waller’s original pitch, which included a different set of minifigs.
Regardless of the changes, the set manages to sum up a great deal of the 11-season hit sci-fi series into one definitive set, so there’s no doubt that fans of The X-Files will snatch it up faster than the aliens abducted Scully in season 2.
“I was obsessed with The X-Files from the moment I first saw it in the ’90s,” Lego Ideas creator Waller said in a news release. “I originally built Mulder’s office back in 2014 while rewatching the series, and it grew from there as a personal project. I wanted to combine nostalgia, detail and storytelling to capture the atmosphere of the show — from Mulder’s office to the forest and UFO encounter. I’m thrilled to see it become an official Lego set and hope it resonates with both long-time fans and new audiences.”
The Lego Ideas The X-Files (21369) set will be available to Lego.com Insiders first on Aug. 1, and available widely on Aug. 4. The 1,478-piece set costs $199.99 / £179.99 / €199.99. The X-Files: Scully’s Lab set is a gift-with-purchase release; buy the official Lego X-Files set from Lego.com or a Lego store, and you’ll get the bonus set for free.

The Lego Group tapped X-Files star Gillian Anderson to promote the set. Here’s what she had to say.
“I didn’t expect to be stepping back into Scully’s heels to investigate a Lego set,” Anderson said. “It has been so much fun revisiting that world all these years later. This set is a wonderful celebration of the X-Files, and the fans who have kept its mystery alive. The level of detail is brilliant — there are so many little nods that fans will absolutely recognise — and as a Lego fan myself, I love that people can now quite literally build their own X-Files moments at home.”
