September came and went, which means it’s time to look back over the bounty it brought and place three of the Switch (2) eShop games we’ve reviewed last month on a podium. (You’ll have to excuse the tardiness, we’re a couple of days late this month.)

We’ve got six games that scored at least 7/10 in time for our monthly face-off. As a reminder, these are Switch eShop games that don’t have physical releases (including Game-Key Cards) at the time of writing.

We asked our writers and contributors to vote for their top three eShop games of September 2026 and tallied the votes. So let’s take a look at the games Team NL thought the most of…

Now, it’s podium time.

In a first for eShop Selects, here we have a game for which we haven’t published our review quite yet (it’s in the pipeline – keep an eye out!), but it’s a port we know hits our 7/10 criteria and enough of the team have played it to make the podium.

We were wondering how the vaunted Nemesis system would hold up in 2026, and thankfully it’s still good. Where might this hang with all the other LotR games on Switch and Nintendo systems, we wonder…

Do you agree with our ranking? Tell us about your favourite eShop releases of last month by voting in our poll and sharing your thoughts in the comments.

How we decide our eShop Selects top three: As we reach the end of every month, the Nintendo Life staff vote on their favourite titles from a list of games selected by the editorial team. To qualify for this list, these games must have been released as a digital-only Nintendo Switch eShop title in that particular month, and must have been reviewed on Nintendo Life; we select the qualifying games based on their review scores.

Staff are then asked to vote for three games that they think deserve to sit right at the very top of that list; first choice gets three points, second choice gets two points, and third choice gets one point. These votes are then tallied to create a top-three list, with the overall winner taking that month’s top prize.
