Pokémon HOME October Premium Plan Update Expands Storage Capacity To 9,000 Pokémon

The Pokémon Company this week announced Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen would be linked with the storage subscription service Pokémon HOME this October.

Apart from a Celebi bonus gift if you complete your Pokédex in FireRed and LeafGreen, there’s also an update on the way to Pokémon HOME.

This will bump the app up to Version 4.1.0, and trainers enrolled in the Premium Plan (paid) will be able to deposit up to 9,000 Pokémon. As noted in the official announcement, the current limit is 6,000, so that’s 3,000 extra Pokémon you can deposit.

The Pokémon Company has also clarified the price of the Pokémon HOME Premium Plan “is not changing”, when this update is released in October.

Following this update in October, trainers will also be able to transfer Pokémon caught using a Safari Ball in Pokémon GO for the first time. As explained, “when these Pokémon are transferred to Pokémon HOME, the Pokémon’s ball will change to a Strange Ball”. Here’s a look:

Once again, The Pokémon HOME app update is dropping the same month as the Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen update. Pokémon Bank will also end on 25th February 2027 in the US. You can find out more in our previous story:
