Veewo Games has launched its cyberpunk roguelike sequel on PlayStation 5 today. The shooter sequel was made available in early access for PC users and received positive reviews.
Neon Abyss 2 is now live on the PlayStation Store for PS5 users, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Published by Kepler Interactive Limited, the launch version adds content alongside features developed throughout the early access period. Players can now take on a new final boss and explore a new game mode designed around a more intense combat challenge.
How Neon Abyss 2 expands on the original game’s roguelike action
Neon Abyss 2 keeps the core roguelike loop but builds on it. While the first game centered around a single-player experience, this game adds an online multiplayer feature. Up to four players can descend into the Abyss together as they fight through eight procedurally generated levels.
Each run focuses on building combinations between weapons, items, and Hatchmon companions. Players can also customize their builds by using new weapon affixes, offering them more variations when adapting their loadouts during each run.
The newly introduced boss is Theia: Goddess of Vanity. She uses broken mirrors, gemstones, and neon effects during her attacks, creating a more challenging experience for players. A brand-new mode called Storm Breach also joins the list alongside new weapons. It features one-way doors and forces players to keep moving through successive fights without turning back.
The developers say the community feedback from the game’s early access has helped shape these upgrades. As of writing, the game holds an 81 score on Metacritic.
Neon Abyss 2 is available on the PS Store for $19.99 for the base game. PlayStation Plus subscribers can get 20% off until October 22, bringing the price down to $15.99. Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition is priced at $29.99 and includes the base game, the Archenemy Returns DLC, and the Supporter Pack.
