The latest Xbox action RPG is now out for PlayStation 5. Players can download the game from the PlayStation Store today. The new game is a sequel to the 2020 dungeon-crawler, Minecraft Dungeons.
Minecraft Dungeons II is now available on the PS Store. The sequel comes from Mojang, the same studio behind the hit sandbox video game franchise, Minecraft. The standard edition costs $29.99, and the Deluxe Edition, with two DLCs, cosmetics, and some more, costs $49.99.
At the time of writing, the game holds an average rating of 4.69 based on 304 ratings.
What Minecraft Dungeons II adds to the original game
The sequel features a new story that continues where the first part left off. Players now face a new threat tied to the Deep Dark and Ancient Cities. Moreover, the game moves beyond the mission-based structure of the first title into a journey filled with quests and fun.
One of the best additions is the Sift, a new dimension accessed through mysterious rifts across the Overworld. Mojang describes it as an uncharted area packed with unknown and otherworldly threats and never-before-seen locations. Players can customize their loadouts and playstyles with new gear.
The sequel completely overhauls the progression and equipment mechanics. Developers doubled the active combat slots from six to twelve, giving heroes vastly expanded tactical options. The enchanting system has also been reworked. Players can find Enchantment Books and add their effects to a personal library. They have also added a jump ability.
The game features four-player co-op with local, online, and mixed multiplayer options. Mixed co-op lets players on the same console or PC join others online. However, online multiplayer play requires a PS Plus subscription. Check out the official blog for more information.
